Hi I'm Claire,

I am a 36year old (defiantly just had to check that) wife and mother of two from Northampshire.

I now live within the New Forest and love the fact I live 20mins from the beach and 5 mins from the forest.

I qualified as a play therapist in 2021 and have been self-employed since 2024.

I have worked with children since I was 15years old, in a number of settings - both mainstream and special. I have always enjoyed working and interacting with the different age groups as its so important to be able to communicate effectively and playfully. The majority of my career I have worked with a variety of disabilities and medical conditions but always wanted good, clear communication and fun to take place.

Within Play therapy I am able to bring my previous experiences and knowledge 'to the table' as well as continuing to learn and grow alongside my clients.

Here's a little insight into me as a person

The family

My family are everything, two little girls and a wonderful husband.

With that said the transition to family life hasn't been easy, and the way it evolves your life is a challenge at times. People always express its the 'best thing to happen to your life' and most of the time I would agree, however I have to admit that it is hard work and I feel this needs to be acknowledged more.

Nature girl

When I look back at my childhood I would argue that nature wasn't really a thing I took notice off.

Fast forward to adulthood and I love being out there - I wouldn't say I'm outdoorsy type - I don't go camping enough, I don't travel enough and I defiantly don't have the gear.

But I appreciate it. I love where I live (Dorset/New forest).

Long hikes, wakeboarding/paddle boarding, dips in the sea, watching the sunsets, lying in a hammock, picnics lovely scenery are all what I strive for all year long - the winter does not stop me!

Dyslexic

For anyone that follows me on socials you may have noticed in a lot of my posts there is a grammar or spelling mistake.

I AM DYSLEXIC

I honestly do not see these mistakes (so apologises if there are any on the website too).

My husband is often coming to show me or explain the mistake, even after I have triple checked an email/ social post or text message.

I have decided to own this.
